| | Function and form,Developes Mazda Rx-2 Coilover Suspension 32way adjustable | Submitted by function and form on Monday, December 29, 2008 - 16:17 | I would like to first off introduce my self my name is Andrew Origel,Sale's Director for Function and form Autolife,we our a suspension manufacture based out if Alhambra California, we have many dealer's that carry our brand and provide suspension to various market's.The development of this particular application came about as a joke at first and soon turned into reality when realizing the extensive engineering that would have to be dedicated into these set's,this came about when a mutual buddy if mine was in need of some suspension for his turbo Rx-2 ,I myself use to be into rotaries so can relate so I decided to talk to the big boss and try it out,we soon realized there was no other company to produce a set unless it required you to cut your factory set something we didn't want to due so in order to produce this application a mold of the factory spindle and knuckle where produced after this process we then needed to figure out how to make the spindle part adjustable, after this process everything else was common enough for us to produce, after the prototype set was made we then needed a engineer to test the spindle since that holds the wheel, the engineer then tested the spindle under x-ray technology to test for stress cracks after the test everything was good but we then still heat-treated the spindle for insurance, these set's our 32 way adjustable dampening and height adjustable-these application's allow you to lower the car with out having to mess with any travel or pre-load of suspension. | [ login or register to post comments | read more ]

| | Next Miata Mule Caught Testing in UK | Submitted by Dan Mazzella on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 - 10:33 | From the front, you could be fooled into thinking that this first glimpse is of a Mazda RX-8 coupe, not the next MX-5 roadster. It's got an RX-8 nosejob, after all. But this cobbled-together test mule is, we're told, the platform on which the next MX-5 will ride. The styling of the finished product is likely to follow on from that of the distinctive Ibuki concept that made its debut last year, though. That design study was clean and simple, reminiscent of the original MX-5, with a wide and stable stance, stubby front and rear overhangs, and the classy use of oval shapes throughout.
The next generation of one of the world's best-selling roadsters is due in late 2005 or early 2006, so we've got a long time to wait. Despite its age (the original came out fifteen years ago), the MX-5, or Miata as it's known Stateside, is still one of the best-handling, finely balanced sports cars around. It's all in the simplicity of the approach. But with high-tech electronic brake/steer/throttle-by-wire systems being introduced to more and more sports-leaning cars, we're interested to see where Mazda goes with the next MX-5. | [ 1 comment | read more ]

| | Mazda 2 vs. Honda Fit | Submitted by mwqa on Thursday, May 11, 2006 - 20:46 | Hi out there! :)
Anyone know why I should wait a year or two (or more??) to by a Mazda 2, instead of buying a Honda Fit?
Seems to me (not seeing the car in the flesh), that it has better visibility. Maybe more solid? | [ login or register to post comments ]
